Overview
We are looking for motivated, passionate and experienced midwives to join our team at Dudley to take on the role of Lead Midwife for maternity inpatients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe daily leadership of the Maternity inpatient setting, allocated to either the labour ward or the maternity ward. They will oversee the smooth and effective running of the shift, provide effective leadership to all staff, respond to emergencies, and escalate concerns as required. They will have excellent communication skills, be a team player, with a focus on safety and a high-quality patient experience.
The post holder will be responsible for the daily management of the Maternity Unit, organising service activities, resources, staff and capacity. They will line-manage an allocated and defined caseload of staff, and support the Matron and Deputy Matron in developing and monitoring services and the quality of care experienced by women and their families, as well as maintaining a safe and secure environment.
