An exciting 12-month secondment opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist within the multi-disciplinary Living Well Service in BCUHB. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a skilled interdisciplinary team, supporting and collaborating. The service supports people presenting with Long Covid, other post viral and fatiguing conditions, ME/CFS, persistent physical symptoms and breathing pattern disorder. The new Living Well Service provides a real opportunity for the applicant to get involved in the development of this service and shape the way we work with vulnerable groups who might otherwise fall through the gaps in services. We are an award winning, friendly and supportive team; who are research active, with a passion for co-production with our partners with Lived Experience. The post holder will take a clinical role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise mainly of patients with highly complex presentations. This will be through highly specialist clinical knowledge and application, audit, research and education. It will require liaison with a diverse number of multidisciplinary specialties and integrated working with other disciplines and agencies. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job The post holder will undertake clinical work within the BCUHB Living Well Service. We work in outpatient clinics and conduct home visits when necessary. Reviews can be delivered remotely if this suits the client. The post holder will also provide training and consultancy to multidisciplinary colleagues. Our patients present with complex chronic conditions including but not limited to: Long Covid, ME/CFS, Breathing Pattern Disorder and FND. Due to the evolving nature of the conditions covered by the service, regular ongoing review of the literature and national guidelines is crucial. These patient groups are often well informed and the successful applicant will need to maintain credibility with patients by being up to date with the latest research and thinking. We are passionate about co-development and enriching the service with research. Therefore, the post holder will have opportunities to help us to continue developing these two important areas. We are a pan North Wales service, with base to be agreed with the successful candidate. The role is full time however we will consider applications which request to work part time hours. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in Occupational Therapy Accredited post graduate study relevant to clinical area at masters level or equivalent HCPC Registration Clinical supervisory skills training Desirable criteria Other professional, technical or academic qualification which relate to clinical practice Motivational interviewing techniques APPLE accredited (Practice Placement Educator Certificate) Experience Essential criteria Broad, well established Occupational Therapy practice Extensive experience in Occupational Therapy Significant experience of Occupational Therapy delivery in area of chronic disease management or rehabilitation Experience of clinical leadership Delegation to qualified and non-registered staff Significant experience of leading multi-professional / multi-disciplinary team working Involvement in clinical audit Experience in service development / improvement Experience of leading clinical audit Experience of delivering / supporting practice / service change Delivering Practice Supervision Delegation of duties and supervision of Occupational Therapy assistants / support workers Contributing to Student training Evidence of attendance on specialist short courses and advanced training in relation to clinical specialty Desirable criteria Experience of project management Additional clinical or health care related experience Experience in leading service development / improvement Experience in research
