University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is offering a permanent position for a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in glaucoma, with an anticipated start date of October 2026 or ASAP.
We are seeking an enthusiastic clinician who specialises in glaucoma, brings excellent teamwork skills, and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
* Deliver expert care in the management of complex glaucoma cases.
* Undertake glaucoma clinics and surgical activity, including conventional surgery and MIGS.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
* Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the glaucoma service.
* Participate in the teaching and training of resident doctors, nurses, optometrists and wider staff.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of advancements in glaucoma care and surgical practice.

* Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in glaucoma.
