The OpportunityA growing andmercially focused engineering business is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join its team.Reporting to senior leadership, this is a highly visible role with responsibility for delivering accurate, insightful financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making across the business and wider group.You will play a key role in driving performance, improving processes, and strengthening financial control, while partnering with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L and supporting analysis
2. Submission of financial KPIs with high-qualitymentary to senior leadership and Board
3. Development of budgets, forecasts, and scenario modelling
4. Variance analysis with clear, actionable insight into performance
5. Management and optimisation of working capital, including oversight of AP/AR functions
6. Monthly Work in Progress (WIP) valuation
7. Business partnering across departments to supportmercial decision-making
8. Monitoring spend against budget and driving cost control initiatives
9. Development of financial models to support operational and strategic decisions
10. Oversight of statutorypliance and audit process
11. Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems, including automation and reporting tools
About You
12. Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
13. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similarmercial finance role
14. Strong management accounting and financial analysis background
15. Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments desirable
16. Advanced Excel skills, with strong systems awareness
17. Proven ability to partner with operational teams and influence decision-making
18. Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
19. Confidentmunicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
20. Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and business performance
