An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Medicine Division at the Royal London Hospital as Service Manager for Specialist Medicine.
This Service Manager post is a key position within the Division's management structure, responsible for providing day-to-day operational management and support across broad services, alongside delivering and development improvement projects for patients and staff.
This is both a challenging and rewarding time to join the Division and this post is an opportunity to lead on service level projects, redesigning workflows and processes to support elective recovery,
operational efficiency and financial stability.
To deliver these changes, you will need experience of working within a multi-professional team and of working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders. You will need to have a strong commitment to improving services whilst remaining passionate about quality and safety. You will have a proven track record of successful operational management experience, and will demonstrate a high standard of communication and organisational skills.
Above all, the post holder will show proficiency for working closely with clinical teams to ensure the efficient delivery of high quality care across outpatient, inpatient and day unit settings.
Please note the role will be required to work across a number of satellite units in East London but will be based primarily at the Royal London Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The Service Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas. Key aims are:
• Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for a number of specialities within Specialist Medicine Services, assisting the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians and General Manager to ensure that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
• Take forward agreed projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas.
• Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.
• Problem solve as appropriate, and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues. To be a key member of the Directorate triumvirate team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all time
• The postholder will manage a team within the division.
