Health Care Assistant

Main duties of the job
Under supervision of a registered nurse you will work as part of a team to deliver high standards of care, supporting patients to feel safe, cared for and supported within the hospital environment.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in Health & Social Care OR a good standard of general education to GCSE level and the agreement to undertake the relevant L2 qualification on appointment
* Completion of the Care Certificate theory and practice standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust.
* Experience working in a clinical environment
* Experience working in the NHS
Knowledge and Skills
* Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment
* Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence
* Able to provide support and reassurance to patients
Personal Attributes
* Understand when to seek support and advice
* Aware of personal and professional limitations
* Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback
* Polite, friendly, approachable and self-motivated
