Role Overview
The HR Advisor is responsible for providing professional, effective, and efficient HR advice and support to managers and employees across the South region. The role supports the implementation of HR initiatives, policies, processes and ways of working to promote a positive and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Build key relationships with stakeholders and provide HR advice and support in relation to employee relations issues.
* Assist in the management of short‑ and long‑term absence, arranging welfare meetings and occupational health advice, and looking at capability to reduce long‑term sickness absence.
* Own the full employee lifecycle, ensuring positive and effective end‑to‑end HR processes in collaboration with the Central HR Team.
* Support the induction and onboarding of new employees.
* Provide HR reporting and systems insights on key metrics, creating and collating monthly HR reports such as average sickness absence and turnover.
* Liaise with the Payroll department for any queries.
* Support the management of employee relations cases, including investigations, hearings, and outcomes.
* Assist with projects, initiatives, system developments and reporting for the wider HR team.
* Respond to employee queries and ensure compliance with HR policies.
Skills & Experience
* CIPD Level 3 or above (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
* Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities in HR data
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Flexible and adaptable to change in a fast‑paced HR environment
