This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Foster 4 Leeds team and play an integral role in the recruitment of new foster carers. You will be joining an Outstanding service as judged by Ofsted in 2025. You'll be part of a team of assessing social workers, committed to producing high quality assessments of prospective foster carers, ensuring that children can have safe and loving family environments. You will be able to work autonomously, holding a caseload of assessments and ensuring work is completed and presented to Fostering Panel in a timely manner. You will need to work within a fostering framework underpinned by Fostering Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards and to understand the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of looked after young people. As a Supervising Social Worker in the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment team you\'ll be responsible for a case load of prospective foster carers, completing their Form F assessment and presenting this to Fostering Panel. You will be responsible for ensuring all of the checks and references are complete. You will prepare applicants for fostering through offering guidance and training. You will deliver training to prospective foster carer to support their preparation to foster. This post is part of the wider Recruitment, Assessment and Enrichment team and as such you will at times be required to support enrichment activity led by the Enrichment Officers, Recruitment Activity led by the Fostering Officers and support with the delivery of training. Please note many applicants work full time so it is essential that you can work flexibly as some evening and weekend work will be required. Under the general direction of a Team Manager to provide a high quality and comprehensive fostering service to foster carers, their families and children placed with them, in accordance with the organisational needs, policy and practices of the Directorate and within statutory regulations and national minimum standards. The post holder must at all times carry out responsibilities within the City Council\'s Policies and Procedures, in particular the Council Policies on Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, and also within the Health and Care Professions Council Code of Practice. This is an experienced Social Worker role with specific responsibilities for managing a caseload of higher levels of complexity, which will include assessment and management of risk and to provide casework advice, support and guidance to other team members.
