Our Glasgow corporate tax team is seeking an Assistant Manager. You will join our growing team and support the expansion of our tax practice in the central belt, focusing on the mid-market and OMBs. We offer excellent opportunities to develop your portfolio, build strong client and internal relationships, and contribute to domestic and cross-border tax projects.
The team helps clients navigate complex tax landscapes by providing tailored solutions to manage risks and adapt to future changes.

A look into the role
As an Assistant Manager in our private capital corporate tax team, you will:
* Manage a portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed, and large groups, supporting their corporation tax needs. You will handle annual compliance work, specialist claims, and tax advisory projects such as project financing and transactions.
* Supervise and review work by junior team members and report directly to Partners and Directors.
* Deliver corporate tax compliance, oversee tax audits, and provide advisory services. You will be the main contact for your clients, liaising with audit teams and other departments, while coaching junior staff and seeking new business opportunities.
* Organize and deliver tax work, solve problems daily, and build your internal and external network to enhance communication and collaboration skills. A commercial mindset and understanding of client needs are essential.

Minimum criteria include being qualified (CA, ATT, CTA) with corporate tax experience. Skills that are desirable include:

* Experience managing compliance portfolios and tax accounting/audit
* Excellent communication skills for supporting team growth and client engagement
* Flexibility to meet deadlines and manage client commitments
