We are seeking
an exceptional academic and clinical leader to join the School of Science and the Environment as Professor of Clinical Pharmacy. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a new MPharm programme, currently at Stage 2 of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) accreditation process, and to influence the future of pharmacy education and practice.
You will lead the development of the clinical and practice-based elements of the curriculum, ensuring that students are prepared for the realities of modern pharmacy practice. You will also be responsible for establishing and managing a high-quality network of practice placement providers across primary, secondary, and community care settings.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Leading the design and delivery of clinical pharmacy and practice-based learning across the MPharm programme.
2. Building and sustaining strategic partnerships with NHS Trusts, community pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.
3. Supporting the School’s GPhC accreditation journey through curriculum development and quality assurance.
4. Providing academic leadership and mentoring to colleagues across the School.
5. Contributing to research and scholarship in clinical pharmacy or pharmacy education.
What We’re Looking For
6. A PhD or equivalent in Pharmacy or a related field.
7. Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
8. Significant experience in clinical pharmacy practice and education.
9. A strong understanding of the GPhC’s Initial Education and Training Standards (2021).
10. Proven leadership in curriculum development and placement organisation.
11. A track record of research or scholarly activity relevant to the role.
