The post holder will be responsible for promoting, delivering, and facilitating various programmes directed by management as part of the School Aged Immunisation Service, by assisting nurses in schools or the office.
1. Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of health promotion/education and public health school-age immunisation programmes.
2. Attend community-based vaccination sessions in both schools and local settings. Work with the nursing team to ensure productive and safe sessions.
3. Promote and facilitate collaborative working between the team, schools, other educational institutions, and families, to deliver immunisation programmes. Ensure all consent forms are returned and contribute ideas to achieve local area targets.
4. Ensure compliance with procedures for storing, transporting, collecting, and delivering vaccinations.
5. Assist in identifying homeschooled children and those in Pupil Referral Units.
6. Maintain databases, keep records up to date, and prepare documents for school visits. Ensure online consent systems are completed before vaccination sessions.
7. Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures for School Immunisation (SOPs).
8. Serve as the first point of contact for administrative tasks, communicating clearly via face-to-face, phone, and email with children, parents, and school staff.
9. Maintain the cold chain, order supplies, and arrange transportation of vaccinations to sites.
10. Actively contribute to team meetings.
11. Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.
12. Comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and skills:
* GCSE level education or equivalent with a minimum of grade 'C' in English and Maths.
* Experience working in a community setting (schools) and/or with children and young people (desirable).
* Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently.
* Assertive, team player, and critical thinker.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong IT skills.
* Driving license (desirable).
* Excellent organisational skills.
