SENCO - Therapeutic SEMH Centre
Location: Norwich
Contract: Temp for 1 term (starting in January)
Pay: £160 - £180 per day (DOE)
Pupils: Up to 20
We are working with a small SEMH therapeutic centre in Norwich who are looking for a compassionate and experienced SENCO to join their team. This is a calm, nurturing setting supporting pupils aged 8-16 with high levels of anxiety, many of whom have been out of education. With a maximum of 20 pupils, the centre focuses on emotional well being, building trust and creating personalised learning pathways.
About the Role
The SENCO will oversee all SEND provision, ensuring each pupil receives the right support to feel safe, confident and able to learn. You will work closely with teachers and therapeutic staff, helping create effective plans and ensuring the centre meets SEND and safeguarding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage SEND provision across the centre
Oversee EHCPs, reviews and personalised support plans
Work with teachers, therapists and external agencies
Monitor progress and ensure interventions are effective
Support staff with trauma-informed and anxiety-aware practice
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and Ofsted expectationsIdeal Candidate
Qualified SENCO (NASENCo) or working toward it
Experience in SEMH, AP, PRU or specialist settings
Calm, understanding and able to build trust with anxious learners
Strong knowledge of SEND processes and multi-agency workingThe school is a brand-new, state-of-the-art setting with a mission to provide outstanding education for students aged 8-16.
