We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join our expanding team. This role will provide technical and coordination support across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.

Overview of Role
The Construction Project Engineer provides technical and coordination support across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
The role focuses on engineering coordination, constructability, technical assurance, programme tracking and on-site delivery support within regulated pharmaceutical and life sciences environments.
The Construction Project Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, design consultants, contractors and client representatives to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction & Technical Planning
* Support review of design documentation for constructability, compliance and sequencing
* Assist in development of project programmes, phasing and logistics plans
* Review technical specifications and ensure alignment with client standards (GMP / EHS / Engineering)
* Coordinate technical queries (RFIs) between contractors and design teams
* Support cost reviews and value engineering exercises
* Assist with permit applications and statutory compliance documentation
Engineering Coordination & Site Delivery
* Coordinate day-to-day site engineering activities
* Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards
* Monitor contractor compliance with approved method statements and risk assessments
* Track installation progress against programme milestones
* Support resolution of technical and construction interface issues
* Participate in coordination meetings and maintain technical action trackers
Programme & Cost Support
* Monitor progress against baseline schedule
* Assist in identifying risks to time and cost and escalate appropriately
* Review subcontractor progress reports
* Support change control processes by assessing technical impacts
* Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting
Quality, Compliance & GMP
* Ensure construction activities align with GMP and regulated environment requirements
* Support implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
* Monitor documentation for compliance with validation and commissioning requirements
* Assist in coordinating commissioning and handover documentation
* Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance activities
Health, Safety & Environmental (EHS)
* Promote a strong safety culture aligned with client and Wade standards
* Ensure site activities are compliant with HSE legislation and project-specific EHS plans
* Participate in site inspections and safety observations
* Support review of RAMS and permit-to-work systems
Project Closeout
* Assist with punch list management and close-out tracking
* Support compilation of as-built documentation
* Coordinate O&M manuals and handover packs
* Contribute to lessons learned reviews

About You
Essential
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
* 3–8 years’ experience in construction or engineering roles
* Experience working within pharmaceutical, life sciences or GMP-regulated environments
* Strong understanding of construction methods and technical coordination
* Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation
* Familiarity with programme management tools (MS Project / Primavera P6)
* Strong organisational and coordination skills
* Full UK driving licence
* CSCS Card or equivalent
Desirable
* Experience supporting commissioning or validation activities
* Knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts
* APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or working toward
* NEBOSH or IOSH safety qualification
* Experience working on live or operational sites
* Understanding of Building Safety Act and CDM Regulations
