Site Manager - Security Fencing Project (High Voltage Substation)

Day Rate: £350-450/day
Duration: 45-week build with potential for extension
Start Date: Mid January
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a security fencing installation on a high voltage substation construction project in Carlisle. This is a critical role ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of works in a high-risk environment.
Please note: This is not a live substation site, so National Grid tickets are not required.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day site operations for the security fencing package.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in high-voltage environments.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
* Monitor progress against programme and report to the Project Manager.
* Maintain accurate site records, including permits, risk assessments, and daily logs.
* Liaise with the client and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or fencing projects, ideally within substation or power infrastructure environments.
* Strong understanding of CDM regulations and HSE standards.
* SMSTS certification (essential).
* Other relevant site management tickets such as First Aid at Work, CSCS (desirable).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple teams and work under pressure.
