Voluntary Trainee Community Advisers – Few Hours a Week

Organisation: Blossom Group

Location: Redbridge, Waltham Forest, or Newham

Hours: Part-time, flexible (just a few hours a week)

About Us

Blossom Group is here to support people in our community who face barriers such as limited English, low digital skills, disability, or vulnerability. We help with council forms, benefit applications, letters to GPs, and many other everyday challenges.

Our goal is simple: to give people the tools, confidence, and support they need to move forward.

The Role

We are looking for Voluntary Trainee Advisers who want to make a real difference.

In this role you will:

* Help people in the community complete forms and access benefits.
* Support those with little or no digital skills.
* Explain letters and processes in clear, simple language.
* Use your community language skills to support people with limited English.
* Work alongside Blossom Group staff and other local organisations.

What We Offer

* Full training provided – no prior experience needed.
* A chance to learn how local systems and services work.
* Opportunities to build confidence and gain valuable skills.
* The chance to use your own language and lived experience to support others.
* A supportive environment where you can make a real impact.

Who We're Looking For

* Friendly, patient, and empathetic people.
* Ability to speak community languages (such as Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Arabic, Somali, etc.) is very welcome.
* Good communication skills in English.
* A few hours a week to commit.

Why Volunteer With Us?

Volunteering with Blossom Group uplifts both the community and you. With just a few hours a week, you can:

* Gain new knowledge and practical skills.
* Work with a team that cares about people.
* Make a meaningful difference to vulnerable, disabled, and disadvantaged communities.

How to Apply
