My client designs and manufactures bespoke equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Northwest London on a permanent basis.
Salary: GBP 40,000 – 50,000, dependent on experience. Type: Permanent. Location: Northwest London.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electromechanical products using Inventor 3D CAD software on a day-to-day basis.
* Develop ideas from concept to production, creating models and prototypes.
* Liaise with clients to understand and develop solutions for design specifications.
* Collaborate with different departments to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
* Maintain technical drawings and documentation.
* Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
* Support product testing, verification, and validation.
* Support junior team members.
Qualifications & Experience
* At least 3 years in a similar mechanical design or engineering position.
* Degree qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience designing precision equipment, machinery, complex mechanical components, or electronic products.
* Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or similar.
* Knowledge of sheet metal, injection‑moulded plastics, and other materials.
* Experience designing products from concept to production.
* Solid theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances.
* Proficient using MS Office.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a small multidisciplinary team.
