ROLE: Building Services Engineer – Mechanical Bias
SALARY: £35,-40,
LOCATION: Worthing (HMRC Contract)

We're looking for a Building Services Engineer – Mechanical Bias to provide high‑quality mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC support across the HMRC estate in Worthing.
Role Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and corrective works on mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
2. Maintain and repair heating systems, hot and cold water systems, pumps, valves, pipework, and general mechanical plant.
3. Support HVAC operations, including AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, filters, belts, motors, and associated components.
4. Diagnose system faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to ensure system reliability.
5. Assist with compliance tasks, including temperature checks, water hygiene responsibilities, and asset maintenance updates.
6. Complete all job records, compliance documentation, and system updates using Mitie digital platforms.
7. Work collaboratively with HMRC staff and Mitie colleagues, ensuring minimal disruption to the operational environment.
8. Participate in an on‑call rota (if applicable) to support out‑of‑hours mechanical emergencies.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
9. Recognised mechanical or plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
10. G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems certification (desirable).
11. Strong experience with TMV servicing, testing, and compliance tasks.
12. Proven experience in mechanical building services, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance.
13. Good understanding of mechanical system diagnostics and safe working practices.
14. Ability to work independently across a secure, operationally sensitive site.
15. Capability to pass HMRC security clearance (mandatory).
