About the Role
Senior Air Quality Consultant – located in one of our Brighton, Bristol, Manchester or Inverness offices. This role involves delivering air quality assessments for UK planning and permit applications and EIAs, leading large‑scale air‑quality projects for governments, international financial institutions and private banks. Responsibilities include policy advice, monitoring and modelling, project management, business development, and training of junior team members.
About You
Significant experience as an air‑quality consultant, leading assessments and coaching junior members. Experience leading bids and project management is advantageous. Academic qualifications: degree or master’s in a relevant subject. Must have experience with UK transport‑related applications and be familiar with UK assessment approaches and tools such as ADMS‑Roads, ADMS, AERMOD and GIS platforms. Proven ability to model transport and industrial emissions for planning and permit applications, and to produce comprehensive high‑quality reports.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Degree or Master’s in a relevant air‑quality subject
* Ability to lead a range of air‑quality assessments for large infrastructure projects as part of a collaborative multi‑disciplinary team following best practice guidance
* Experience delivering air‑quality assessments for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in the UK
* High proficiency in internationally recognised dispersion models including AERMOD or ADMS, and ADMS‑Roads
* Experience delivering energy generation projects either in the UK or internationally
* Able to produce air‑quality‑focused proposals
* Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent written communication skills
Desirable
* Good knowledge of monitoring approaches for a range of different pollutants
* Experience of developing emissions inventories for regional scale projects
* Knowledge of operational monitoring reporting for international energy projects and analysis of CEMS data
* Experience in training junior team members
* Experience using geographical information (GIS) systems
* Experience using OpenAir and Python
* Membership of a professional body such as IAQM or IEMA
