The role
Operations Finance Business University Placement Join Warner Hotels' Finance team on a 12-month placement and gain valuable hands-on experience across Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Operations Finance, and Financial Control. Working alongside finance professionals and operational leaders, you'll play an active role in supporting business performance and decision-making while developing practical skills in accounting, financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering. Based at our Hub, in Hemel Hempstead, you'll gain broad exposure to the Warner Hotels business, developing an understanding of how different finance functions work together to support operational and commercial objectives across a leading hospitality organisation. As part of the Finance team, you'll support key accounting processes, produce meaningful reporting and analysis, and contribute insights that help business leaders make informed decisions. This varied and challenging role will provide a strong foundation for a future career in finance while offering valuable exposure to both financial and operational aspects of the business. What will I be doing? Core weekly and period end accounting entries. Perform stock reconciliations and margin analysis across food, beverage, retail and leisure operations, helping ensure accurate financial reporting and identifying opportunities to improve profitability. Support our operations finance analyst in producing labour reporting and our site teams with any labour scheduling system issues. Support in the production of weekly reporting which supports our site and central teams in making informed decisions based on the financials. Month end FP&A reporting Conduct market and competitor analysis to provide insights that support strategic and commercial decision-making. Capital Expenditure Reporting Ad-hoc analysis which may involve creating and producing reports and presentations to support the business in key decisions or answer specific hotel queries. What are we looking for? Studying towards a management/ business and finance degree - 2 years into a Business/Economics/Mathematics/Accounting type degree at high performing university. Demonstrates a drive to learn and grow within Finance. Demonstrable interest in a hospitality industry. Ability to analyse data and provide insights. Clear and effective communication skills. Ability to work as part of a diverse team. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Desire to learn and develop. Willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends and regulations. Acts with integrity and transparency in all financial dealings. A desire to deliver activity and tasks to high standards. Competent with Microsoft Excel Deal with some complexity.
