Responsibilities
* Maintain strong relationships with customers, advising on areas for improvement and technical solutions.
* Handle costing and pricing of jobs, ensure purchase orders are in place, liaise with workshop regarding job planning and progress, and manage ongoing job costs against the norms.
* Engage and communicate with support functions such as Stores, Procurement, Machine Shop, and other departments as required.
* Ensure each job is completed to a high standard, obtaining regular feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement.
* Communicate effectively across all levels of the business to ensure successful job completion.
* Manage the approval process for variations and change orders promptly.
* Line manage Valve Technicians, including approving working hours, providing task instructions, and measuring performance.
* Champion and promote adherence to safety and quality compliance paperwork and documentation.
* Maintain a commitment to safety at all times.
Technical Knowledge and Requirements
* Expertise in control valves and instruments, including diagnostics.
* Full UK Driving License, as travel to customer sites is involved.
* Awareness of and commitment to Health and Safety and Q.A Standards.
* Supervisory and leadership experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in computer literacy, including use of Valve Management databases, email, Excel, Word, and mobile phones (including call-out for emergencies).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet deadlines.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical problems.
* Flexibility to support other teams or customer locations as required, including attending customer sites in challenging conditions.
* Willingness to work various hours and participate in TAR events to meet business needs.
* Proactive in providing management with ideas to improve facilities and operational workflows.
