About the role
We have a 24-month secondment opportunity for a Finance Manager - Modernising the Property Portfolio (MPP) to join the Commercial Finance Team. This role supports our store development strategy of creating a great Boots presence in every town.
The Finance Manager will report directly to the Head of Finance - Beauty, with a dotted line to the Head of Finance - Property.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end process for MPP Commercial Capital Programs, from business case creation to financial completion within Group Capital Investment models and papers, covering both Growth and Maintenance spend.
* Serve as the key finance contact for MPP modelling, coordinating with Finance and Non-Finance partners, ensuring clarity on timelines and milestones, including participation in regular MPP Project planning Analysis (CPA) calls.
* Provide independent, critical thinking to challenge norms, guide departmental agendas, review scenarios, and support the business with reasoned recommendations.
* Coordinate all MPP Commercial Capital initiatives, including non-Beauty projects.
* Lead the 3-year Plan (3YP) / Budget processes, collaborating with the wider Commercial Finance team.
* Manage initiative tracking and contribute to monthly reporting processes.
* Develop standard templates and processes for MPP initiatives, gaining detailed knowledge of different paper types and expenditure policies.
* Influence the business to adhere to governance and control environments.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Strategic thinking and analytical skills
* Established experience as a Finance Manager
