I am seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a new data centre facility, focusing on the physical construction, engineering, and commissioning of the site. This role sits on the data centre delivery side of the business and is responsible for managing all aspects of the build lifecycle, from design coordination through to handover. The successful candidate will ensure that the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards expected of a mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities: Project Delivery Lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment and progress Oversee procurement of construction services, equipment, and materials Construction & Engineering Oversight Manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards Oversee installation of critical systems including power, cooling, mechanical, and structural elements Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews Stakeholder Management Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners Provide clear and consistent reporting on project status, risks, and milestones Facilitate coordination between engineering, operations, and commercial teams Risk & Quality Management Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies Ensure quality assurance processes are in place and followed throughout the build Manage change control processes and assess impact on cost and schedule Commissioning & Handover Oversee commissioning activities to ensure systems are tested and operational Ensure smooth transition from construction to operations teams Manage documentation, certification, and final project close-out Key Requirements: Experience Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centres or other mission-critical environments (e.g. healthcare, utilities, industrial facilities) Strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems within complex builds Experience working with contractors, consultants, and multi-disciplinary teams Skills Strong project management and organisational skills Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial management Qualifications Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) preferred Relevant health & safety certifications (e.g. SMSTS) desirable Benefits: 33 days annual leave 4 x Death in Service Benefit Contributory Pension Scheme (5% Employer, 5% Employee) This is a phenomenal career opportunity.
