The Governors of Holy Family Catholic & Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant who will be committed to working to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils.

They behave well during lessons as a result, the school is calm and orderly. In the early years, children are polite and considerate and cooperate well together. OFSTED March 2023

The successful candidate will:

•Be supportive of our Catholic values and ethos.
• Participate in activities designed to meet the emotional, physical and learning needs of individual children and groups of children.
• Support pupils with routines and transitions and behaviour management.
• Accompany pupils on visits/trips and out of school activities as required.
• Support pupils in developing effective relationships with peers and adults and follow behaviour policy
• Assist with the organisation of the learning environment.
• Under direction of the class teacher, maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies and data protection.
• Contribute to monitoring and delivery of any support plans, Education Health and Support Plans and health care plans.
• Work with the class teacher to follow professional recommendations to support any children who may have communication or interaction difficulties, cognition and learning difficulties, social and emotional difficulties.
• Deal with general medical needs/first aid on a daily basis and specific medical needs of individual children, this may include intimate care.
• Be willing to carry out general teaching assistant duties as appropriate.
• Be committed to working as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
• Have a sense of humour and a flexible approach to classroom support.
• Cover break duty, MDSA duty and first aid duties.
