Assist Minor Surgery Clinics/Contraceptive Implant Clinics
Ensure specimens are labelled, bagged, and ready for collection.
Ensure clinical waste (including sharps bins) collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Nurse Practitioner.
Ensure clinical rooms are kept clean and tidy, remove bins, dirty utensils/instruments, change bedrolls and curtains.
Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms.
Order stocks and supplies as required.
Use of appropriate Infection Control Procedures, reporting any risks to the Nurse Practitioner as set out in the practice policy.
Know basic first aid/resuscitation and be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate.
Chaperoning.
Patient Liaison for QOF/Recalls and any other requests from colleagues (contacting patients to attend surgery).
Assist in seasonal/special projects as required, e.g., Flu campaign, Shingles, Pneumonia.
Attend and participate in practice meetings.

The practice includes 3 partners, 5 salaried GPs, a Nurse Practitioner team of 7, a nursing team of 6, a healthcare assistant team of 4 (expanding to 5), a home visiting team, pharmacy, admin, reception, and management teams.
