Assist Minor Surgery Clinics/Contraceptive Implant Clinics

Ensure specimens are labelled, bagged, and ready for collection.

Ensure clinical waste (including sharps bins) collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Nurse Practitioner.

Ensure clinical rooms are kept clean and tidy, remove bins, dirty utensils/instruments, change bedrolls and curtains.

Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms.

Order stocks and supplies as required.

Use of appropriate Infection Control Procedures, reporting any risks to the Nurse Practitioner as set out in the practice policy.

Know basic first aid/resuscitation and be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate.

Chaperoning.

Patient Liaison for QOF/Recalls and any other requests from colleagues (contacting patients to attend surgery).

Assist in seasonal/special projects as required, e.g., Flu campaign, Shingles, Pneumonia.

Attend and participate in practice meetings.

About us

Millwood Partnership offers an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our busy, friendly team. The practice includes 3 partners, 5 salaried GPs, a Nurse Practitioner team of 7, a nursing team of 6, a healthcare assistant team of 4 (expanding to 5), a home visiting team, pharmacy, admin, reception, and management teams. We seek an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us.


Job responsibilities

Clinical and Nursing Support Duties, NHS Health Checks, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Urinalysis, ECG Recording, Assist Minor Surgery Clinics/Contraceptive Implant Clinics.

Ensure specimens are labelled, bagged, and ready for collection.

Ensure clinical waste collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Nurse Practitioner.

Ensure clinical rooms are kept clean and tidy, remove bins, dirty utensils/instruments, change bedrolls and curtains.

Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms.

Order stocks and supplies as required.

Administrative Duties, Patient Liaison for QOF/Recalls, and other requests from colleagues (contacting patients).

Assist in seasonal/special projects, e.g., Flu campaign, Shingles, Pneumonia, MMR catch-up, Staff immunization.

Attend and participate in practice meetings.

Manage appointments, reporting any issues to the Nurse Practitioner.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* Previous General Practice Experience
* SystmOne knowledge


Experience

* Experience of working within a team
* Experience working with vulnerable patients
* Previous primary care experience
* Previous GP Practice experience
