Commercial and Business Projects Director
We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a strong commercial outlook and sound business judgement to work closely with the Headmaster and School Executive team, helping to shape the development of new opportunities and drive forward strategic initiatives, while also overseeing established income‑generating areas that are already performing to a high standard.
This senior role will sit within the School Executive team and requires an experienced professional with a strong track record in leadership, project delivery and business management and development. We are looking for someone with a confident, proactive approach – highly organised, forward thinking and able to establish credibility from the outset as a collaborative and supportive member of a successful senior team.
Responsibilities
* Shape development of new opportunities and drive forward strategic initiatives.
* Oversee established income‑generating areas, ensuring continued high performance.
* Pair strategic insight with practical, hands‑on leadership to deliver measurable value through well‑executed projects and new income streams.
* Innovate and target new opportunities while stewarding existing successful operations to support the School’s long‑term sustainability.
* Provide effective business accounting and management to support the School’s charitable and educational objectives.
Qualifications
* Experienced professional with a strong track record in leadership, project delivery, business management and development.
* Strong commercial outlook and sound business judgement.
* Confident, proactive, highly organised, forward‑thinking and able to collaborate with senior team members.
* Sound understanding of business accounting and management; empathy with the School’s charitable and educational objectives.
Terms of Appointment
Salary bracket: £60,000 – £75,000, subject to review after one year and regularly thereafter.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 with a one‑hour unpaid lunch break. Some evening, weekend and occasional overseas travel may be required.
Holidays
30 days per year, including public holidays, plus an additional 5 discretionary days for the Christmas/New Year break.
Pension Scheme
Contributory pension scheme with an employer contribution of 8 %.
