Job overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to work within a district general hospital in Walsall. The role involves performing a full range of cardiac physiology duties, including ECGs, ambulatory monitoring and analysis, cardiac catheterisation, exercise tests, device implants and follow‑ups (including complex devices) and echocardiography. The post holder will assist with training of students and junior staff, and work towards accreditation in either Echocardiography or Cardiac Rhythm Management to gain BSE or BHRS qualifications.
Main duties of the job
* Provide non‑invasive cardiology services independently and unsupervised, covering ECG, ambulatory monitoring, ETT, cath lab, and supporting echo or pacing services.
* Take technical responsibility for workload, ensuring high level of patient care and adherence to local and national standards.
* Assist in day‑to‑day running of the echocardiography and CRM service, maintaining infrastructure, equipment and stock control of consumables.

Person specification
Qualifications
* 1st or 2:1 BSc in Clinical Physiology (PTP) or equivalent.
* Current BLS / ILS certification.
* RCCP / Healthcare Scientist Registration.
Experience
* Minimum 1 year at Band 5 cardiac physiology level.
* Experience across a broad range of routine cardiology procedures.
* Prior experience in echocardiography.
Knowledge
* Appropriate underpinning knowledge in cardiology.
* Understanding of the role and commitment to cardiology application to clinical care.

Salary: £39,959 - £48,117 a year (pro‑rata for part time).
Contract: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
