About this Role
Grace College are looking to recruit an Assistant Vice Principal of Teaching and Learning who will enthuse pupils to learn, with a combination of great subject knowledge, energy and dedication.
We have high expectations for our students as they grow and develop and all our staff provide important role models to them in terms of positive attitude, work ethic and diligence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ensuring that the college curriculum is challenging and meets the needs of all students so that they can achieve a personal best in all subjects, with a particular emphasis on:
• working with Heads of Department so that all curriculum intent is aspirational and builds upon knowledge over time;
• supporting staff to deliver consistently outstanding lessons through the use of evidence-based approaches to curriculum implementation;
• working the SEND and Inclusion Lead to ensure that students with additional needs are making progress through the curriculum in line with their peers.
Ensuring that there is a culture of continual professional development:
• plan and implement a robust whole staff professional development programme based upon the Emmanuel Schools Foundation teaching principles;
• ensure external opportunities for professional development are used to further improve staff expertise and knowledge;
• working alongside the Vice Principal and Director of Teacher Training and Development to implement a high-quality coaching programme for staff.
Ensuring that quality assurance processes support staff to contribute to high performing teams, with a particular emphasis upon:
• leading on the implementation of the quality assurance cycle;
• analysing quality assurance data and identify areas of strength putting in strategies to secure rapid improvement in areas of development for individual teachers and departments;
• report upon the quality of teaching and learning to the Senior Leadership Team and School Improvement Board.
