Overview
We are looking for a candidate with the capability, enthusiasm and vision to lead Service Development in our service line in West London Forensic and Specialist Services.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver service development, including leadership and delivery of service evaluation, transformation and quality improvement.
* Provide project management support and advice to initiate and embed positive change; support the WLFS Senior Management Team and all staff.
* Establish and maintain close working relationships with the WLFS QI and Patient Safety Leads, the Trust QI and Governance teams, and the WLFS SMT.
* Record, analyse and present data to follow key measures and communicate key facts effectively.
* Apply learning science concepts (including Human Factors) and essential understanding of QI methodology.
* Act as the service line subject matter expert in QI and project management, contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement and addressing barriers to improvement.
* Utilise process improvement methodologies (e.g., LEAN Six-Sigma) where appropriate to support project and process improvements.
* Keep up to date with relevant policy, legislation, guidance and professional developments.
* Take a whole-systems approach to identify opportunities to improve services, then organise, plan and deliver these by developing and implementing appropriate project management systems.
* Apply expert project management knowledge using principles (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2) tailored to project needs, including full project plans, Project Initiation and Business Case documentation, RAID management, highlight and exception reporting, lessons learned and benefits realisation.
Work Arrangement
The role will be based on site four days a week. Initially this will be on site at the Cassel Hospital two days a week and on site at St Bernard’s Hospital two days a week, with one day either on site or working from home according to the post-holder’s preference. This may change as the needs of the service change over time. If the post-holder chooses a work-from-home day, the day will be flexible week by week according to service needs.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential: understanding of learning science (including Human Factors) and a strong grasp of QI methodology; experience as a service line subject matter expert in QI and project management and delivery; ability to drive continuous quality improvement and address barriers; familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2); ability to apply process improvement methodologies (e.g., LEAN Six-Sigma) where appropriate.
