Overview
Job Title: Offshore Health and Safety Policy Adviser. Location: Stanley, Falkland Islands. Contract | Full Time. 37.5 hours per week. Closing on 26/09/2025 at 12:00. Starting Salary £42K - £49K per annum dependent on qualifications and experience plus 25% Gratuity, eligibility for a 30% Market Supplement, Flights and Relocation Grant.
Hours and benefits: 25% taxable gratuity, 30% market supplement based on basic salary, flights package for you and dependents, 41 days paid leave (includes Public and Government Holidays), relocation allowance, government housing for rent, starter pack, and a stimulating and supportive setting in a unique and beautiful location.
The post is for a fixed term of up to 4 years in the first instance with the possibility of extension. Secondment and Interchange opportunities will be considered.

The Role
You will provide support, guidance and expert advice, including regulatory advice, to the Director and the Senior Project Manager with regards to all aspects of Health and Safety requirements. The role includes developing offshore safety policy proposals, delivering drafting instructions, and preparing work for the legal team. The role will also involve conducting primary and secondary research, identifying best practices in other jurisdictions and analysing policy alternatives to recommend fit-for-Falklands solutions aligned with evolving best practice in the oil and gas industry worldwide.
The Successful Candidate Will Be
* Able to demonstrate a solid track record of relevant public sector policy experience, ideally in offshore Health and Safety.
* An extremely proficient communicator both verbally and in writing, with the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively.
* Comfortable working within a dedicated team with autonomy and the tact, sensitivity and judgement to manage sensitive confidential information.
* Organised, articulate and persuasive with strong interpersonal skills to establish excellent working relationships with colleagues, senior government leaders, elected officials, industry representatives and external partners.
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive, as well as a strategic thinker, skilled problem solver and supportive team player.
* Flexible, adaptable and responsive.
* Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as public policy, law or health & safety, with a Masters/post-graduate diploma (or equivalent) in a discipline containing significant content relevant to the offshore hydrocarbons industry.
