Join to apply for the Firmware (FPGA) Engineer role at Portal Londrinatur. This role is based at Manor Royal site in Crawley with flexible on‑site and remote working.
Responsibilities
* Work on firmware architecture, requirements specification, design, verification and validation.
* Collaborate with systems, software and hardware engineers to develop electronic systems.
* Use industry‑class development tools for FPGA and SoC hardware technology.
* Follow a structured firmware design process.
* Deliver firmware projects on agreed time, cost and quality.
* Verify firmware using hardware verification languages.
* Design firmware with HDL.
* Enhance firmware processes: documentation, scripting, reporting, process automation.
* Work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* BEng, MEng, EngD or PhD in electronics with 5+ years relevant experience.
* Professional engineering body membership or working toward chartered status.
* Verification testbench architecture with SystemVerilog or C++.
* Advanced VHDL verification or OSVVM/UVVM.
* Requirements management using IBM Rational DOORS.
* Simulation using Mentor Graphics ModelSim or QuestaSim.
* Digital design in VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
* Experience with vendor‑specific development tools.
* Knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet, Serial communication, AXI4.
* Object‑oriented design techniques.
* Image processing techniques and algorithms.
* Algorithm development with MATLAB.
* Linux development environments.

Security Clearance
