Introduction We are seeking a Business Banker (SME) to manage and grow a portfolio of business customers in the New England area Description Business Banker (SME) Permanent | Full‑time Location: New England area About the role Regional Australia Bank is seeking an experienced Business Banker (SME) to manage and grow a portfolio of small business customers across our regional network in the New England region. This role is responsible for developing strong, trusted relationships with SME customers, identifying lending and broader banking solutions, and delivering quality outcomes aligned to the Bank’s strategy and risk appetite. Reporting to the Senior Manager (Business Banking), you will work closely with branches, credit teams and specialist partners to support sustainable business growth and exceptional customer experiences. Key responsibilities Manage and grow a diversified portfolio of SME / business customers across multiple industries Originate new‑to‑bank business through referrals, networking and community engagement Identify, structure and deliver tailored lending solutions including term loans, overdrafts, asset finance and commercial property lending Prepare high‑quality credit submissions and lending documentation within delegated authority Proactively manage portfolio quality, including annual reviews, risk monitoring and early identification of emerging issues Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reporting and customer documentation Collaborate with branches and specialists to support referrals and end‑to‑end customer outcomes Contribute market insights, product knowledge and SME expertise to the wider team About you Relevant qualification in finance, business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Demonstrated experience in SME or business banking, lending or relationship management Strong ability to analyse SME financial information and prepare compliant credit submissions Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills A customer‑centric mindset with strong collaboration and problem‑solving capability Sound understanding of risk, compliance and regulatory requirements (or ability to quickly develop) ASIC Tier II qualification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months) Current driver’s licence and ability to travel regularly across the network Why join Regional Australia Bank?
