We have a vacancy within our Manufacturing Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Manufacturing Team Leader. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.
Shift Pattern: 39 hours each week with a flexible starting time between 07:00 and 08:00 Monday to Friday, with a flexible finish time between 16:00 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and on a Friday, a finish time of 12.00. You will be entitled to a 30-minute unpaid lunch break between 12:00 and 12:30 Monday to Thursday. Additionally, you will have a 10-minute paid break each morning Monday to Friday and a 10-minute paid break each afternoon Monday to Thursday.
Responsible for the Machine Shop areas.
Role Accountabilities
* Support the “internal customer” (Manufacturing Manager) by aligning with shared agreed objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
* Responsible for conducting the designated daily departmental walk the floor routine, engage with the team and address issues promptly.
* Own the department’s scheduling board and work with the production coordinator to have full control of the departments scheduling list.
* Conduct daily Hazard Spotting to achieve set targets and maintain a safe working environment.
* Analyse Key Performance Indicators and data collection systems to drive improvement and present the results in the format of SQCDP metrics in the Daily Ops Meeting.
* Monitor team performance, deliver real-time feedback, and facilitate skill development and coaching.
* Participate in the Daily Operations meeting, taking ownership of problems assigned for resolution. Participation also includes presenting daily production metrics, quality issues, reporting on departmental EHS and capacity planning.
* Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by leading in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate.
* Apply problem-solving methodologies to define and problem solve at root cause as a method of improving operational performance, in particular on process capability and quality problems.
* Support Manufacturing Manager through day-to-day supervision of team members. Ensures adherence to work instructions and aerospace standards, and acts as first point of contact for technical issues and escalates critical problems as needed.
* Maintain the capability planner monthly and organise the department effectively based on current skill levels.
General responsibilities
* Manage throughput of work in priority order to deliver our OTIF target.
* Generate and review data to ensure planned times are accurate and that team members are completing work within time allocated and take reasonable actions where required.
* Maintain an efficient system to control the maintenance and storage / replenishment of tooling.
* Liaise with Management regarding staffing levels and workload.
* Distribution of work according to the priorities defined by the scheduling lists.
* Administration of people related procedures, including the on-time completion of recruitment, processing og man hours, absence management, performance management, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
* Maintain clear shift communication and documentation, ensuring smooth handovers and operational continuity.
* Work alongside the Manufacturing Engineer and technicians to resolve quality issues and ensure suitable measures put in place in line with company process are applied to prevent reoccurrence.
* Oversee the technical lead is giving adequate training inline with defined training plans to employees where required.
* Work with Human Resources to sustain an ethical working environment which adheres to company policies.
Create Competitive Advantage
* Generate the resources and lead the weekly Gemba meeting in line with standard format, ensuring communication of relevant SQCDP metrics. and relevant departmental and business updates.
* Develop a continuous improvement “pipeline” of activities by supporting LEAN Events and generating individual ideas to improve EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery performance. For example, by developing tooling strategies to reduce tooling usage and cost, developing actions to reduce process cycle times and improve productivity/throughput, developing actions to eliminate quality defects, and working to create a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.
* Supports internal and external audits by maintaining clean, organised, and compliant work environments.
* Provides daily leadership and supervision of shop floor teams to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People targets.
Person Specification
* Previous experience of working to Aerospace standards.
* Experienced in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* An understanding and alignment to our Accrofab Values; Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence.
* Preferably 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
