About the Role As Area Finance Senior Business Partner – UK&I, you will play a pivotal role in driving business performance and supporting strategic growth across the region. You will work closely with the UK & Ireland leadership team, while collaborating with European finance teams to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. By embedding Mars’ Five Principles into your work, you will help guide decision-making, influence strategy and support sustainable value creation. This role requires a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a business partnering environment, capable of shaping strategic direction while ensuring financial discipline and clarity. Main Purpose & Goals Act as a strategic financial advisor and catalyst for business growth. Deliver high-quality financial planning, analysis and decision support. Identify and investigate operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Highlight growth opportunities and support forward planning through insight-led analysis. Influence day-to-day business decisions, helping shape strategy and the direction of the functions you support. Key Responsibilities Strategic Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, driving financial discussions aligned with strategic priorities and the Five Principles. Lead cross-functional collaboration initiatives, fostering shared ownership of financial outcomes. Constructively influence and challenge stakeholders, ensuring decisions are supported by robust financial analysis. Facilitate strong alignment between finance and operational teams to support sustainable growth and operational excellence. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Own and lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes for the UK & Ireland region. Work closely with central finance teams, including FP&A, to ensure alignment with group reporting and planning requirements. Deliver periodic, quarterly and annual financial updates, providing clear narratives around performance drivers, risks and opportunities. Conduct deep-dive analysis into financial results, market trends and operational metrics. Prepare and present clear and compelling financial insights to senior leadership and governance bodies to support informed decision-making. Leadership & Development Mentor and develop junior finance professionals, promoting curiosity, learning and high performance. Act as a role model for Mars’ values, encouraging ethical behaviour, mutual respect and empowerment across teams. Experience Required Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience, with strong exposure to business partnering and FP&A. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business partnering excellence. Industry experience within veterinary, healthcare, or related sectors. Qualifications Essential Professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA. Skills & Abilities Essential Strong commercial acumen and business understanding. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to build trust, influence stakeholders and collaborate across teams. Strategic and critical thinking with a focus on long-term value creation. Proactive, results-driven and adaptable mindset. Strong alignment with Mars’ Five Principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom. Desirable Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience using enterprise financial planning tools such as Oracle or Anaplan. Other Qualities Essential Proactive and collaborative team player.
