Overview
Community Moorings Scotland’s mission is to create amazing places for boats and people on the canals of Scotland. We want more boats, moving more often, creating a vibrancy that stretches along the canals and inland to local communities.
Role: Treasurer
As Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the charity’s finances, ensuring financial sustainability and transparency. You'll work closely with the Board of Trustees and provide advice and guidance on financial matters.
Responsibilities
* Maintain an overview of the charity’s financial affairs
* Ensure proper records are kept and appropriate financial procedures are followed
* Produce regular financial reports and present them at trustee meetings
* Assist in budget planning and annual reporting
* Liaise with external accountants or auditors where necessary
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (qualified or part-qualified accountant desirable but not essential)
* A clear understanding of financial management and reporting
* A commitment to the charity’s mission and values
* Willingness to dedicate roughly 10-12 hours/month to the role

Frequency & commitment
We would ask you to be present at board meetings once a month. Either via Zoom or in person. Hours might vary per week but you can choose what days/times you work each week. Roughly 10-12 hours per month.
