Job Title: Industrial Refrigeration Engineer
Location: Kent, United Kingdom
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (DOE) + Overtime + Call-Out + Company Vehicle + Benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join our team operating across Kent and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale refrigeration systems, primarily in industrial environments such as food processing, cold storage, and manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis, and reactive repairs on industrial refrigeration systems
* Work with ammonia and/or CO₂ refrigeration plant and associated controls
* Install and commission new refrigeration equipment and systems
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with F-Gas and Health & Safety regulations
* Provide emergency call-out cover as part of the team rota
* Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
* Liaise with customers on-site to provide professional and informed support
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience working with industrial/commercial refrigeration systems
* City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent
* F-Gas Category 1 qualification (mandatory)
* Experience with ammonia (NH3) and/or CO2 systems (desirable but not essential)
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Right to work in the UK
Desirable
* Knowledge of control systems (e.g. PLCs, SCADA)
* Additional HVAC/R certifications (e.g. Safe Handling of Ammonia)
* CSCS or equivalent site safety certification
* Experience working in food production or cold chain environments
