Neonatal Senior Nurse

As a key leader in our dedicated team, you will have the chance to energise and inspire both families and staff. Your enthusiasm and knowledge will be the driving force behind our commitment to individualised nursing care, transitional care, and family‑integrated initiatives.

Lead the Neonatal Team: You will lead the neonatal team across intensive, high dependency, special, and transitional care, recognising and responding to neonatal emergencies while providing support to peers and junior staff.

Educate and Empower: You will share your extensive knowledge and clinical experience to enhance the skills of your colleagues in delivering Family Integrated Care, ensuring every family feels informed, supported, and cared for.

Champion Best Practices: Uphold the highest standards by ensuring care follows Trust policies, using clinical audits and research to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Foster Collaboration: Engage with internal and external networks, promoting a collaborative environment that enhances communication and resource sharing.

Shape the Future of Care: Participate in the development of our neonatal unit, aligning efforts with your professional registration to create a brighter future for newborns.

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse with current NMC Pin
* Nursing degree or equivalent
* Evidence of CPD
* Evidence of Mentorship
* Qualified in speciality
* Current NLS provider
* Accelerated leaders course


Knowledge and Skills

* Significant post‑registration experience, including 2 years at Band 6 level
* Experience of research and audit
* Proactive problem solving
* Ability to use reflective practice
* Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Leadership course
* Awareness of current nursing issues
* Experience of change agent/quality improvement
* Evidence of ward management
* Understanding of ward budgets
