Deputy Manager Children's Home Hillingdon W London UB10 £36,000-£40,000 We require a Deputy Manager for our modern and spacious detached children’s homes, situated in Hillingdon W London, Offering a unique Emotional Behaviours service for children and young people. and specialise in children and young people with complex mental health & EBD needs & associated challenging behaviours * The ethos of our children homes is to provide safety and stability to children in a time of great difficulty and change, enabling them to continue with everyday life even though they may be facing tough challenges. * Our homes provide therapeutic and nurturing environments so that the children feel safe and cared for whilst learning boundaries and self-care skills. Requirements for Deputy Manager * Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent) * Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&S * Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS * Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues * Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation * Team-building skills * Supervision skill * Ability to manage teams effectively. * Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. * Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour. * Excellent organisational skills 12 months relevant supervisory experience * 24 months experience of working in a residential setting with and managing challenging behaviour. Shift Pattern - We require flexibility from potential candidates as in Days, Night(Wake or sleep in), weekend and bank holidays. Sleep in rate is £60 per night. You must be flexible ( liable to change) Salary for Deputy Manager : Competitive 40 hours per week annual salary £36-£40K plus some sleeps You will be required to be flexible in your hours supporting the children the staff and the Manager Deputy Manager Key Responsibilities: * Assist and support the Registered Manager in all aspects of the residential care of the Ofsted registered home, to provide a high quality service which meets the individual needs of the children and young people and to help create and maintain a non-institutionalised, child centred safe community home for extremely vulnerable children. * Take on on-call duties outside of working hours in support of the home dealing with situations in line with children’s homes regulations and company procedures * Support staff on a day to day basis promoting good practice and responding to concerns or first line complaints. * Take part in the assessment process of potential new admissions to the home. * Oversee record keeping and take part in the regular auditing of the children and young people’s records, responding to any issues requiring further action, including those identified at reviews. * Manage and provide supervision for designated support workers and night waking support worker * You will oversee the working rotas.
