Description
We work with a network of freelance facilitators who support our work on specific projects where lived experience, professionalism and strong facilitation skills are essential.
We are currently inviting expressions of interest from London-based Facilitators to support an upcoming programme focused on policing, criminal justice, and community relationships.
This role combines facilitation with lived experience. Facilitators will mainly hold space for others to contribute, while drawing on their own insight and experiences.
This is a freelance role paid at a fixed day rate.
Key Responsibilities
This will depend on the project, but is likely to include:
* Facilitating small group discussions between community members and professionals
* Creating a safe and respectful space for open dialogue
* Supporting participants to share their views and experiences
* Managing group dynamics and sensitive conversations
* Following a facilitation guide and agreed ground rules
* Working closely with the ClearView team before and during sessions
* Sharing feedback after the session to support learning and improvement
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are interested in individuals who bring a balance of professional facilitation skills and community-rooted experience.
Essential
* Lived experience related to policing (i.e. been involved in an experience involving the police - positive or negative) or the criminal justice system. This can also include experiences of involvement through family or close friends
o Or experience through advocacy or community leadership in these areas
* Experience supporting group discussions or conversations
* Strong listening and communication skills
* Ability to remain calm and grounded in sensitive situations
* Confidence facilitating with professionals and authority figures present
* Experience working with at least one of the following groups/communities in London:
o People who identify as women
o People who identify as Black
o People who identify as being from an ethnic minority background
o People who identify as being LGBTQ+
Desirable
* Experience working in youth services, community work, or related fields
* Experience facilitating conversations across power differences
* Experience engaging on topics such as safety, trust, justice, or public services
No formal qualifications are required. Training and briefing will be provided.
