Role summary: Responsible for the implementation and management of project resource mobilisation, personnel competence and development, with on-site deployment and training programmes. Manage project development engineers and coordinators, oversee business-as-usual activities, access reporting and maintenance of networks and roads, and manage team budgets and safety and environmental standards.


Responsibilities

* Responsible for the implementation and management of the project resource mobilisation inclusive of all personnel's competence and development, capturing shortfalls and RAG reviews to proceed on site. Develop training programmes for onboarding of project personnel and internal personnel.
* Manage the project development engineer and project co-ordinators, capturing BAU activities including access reporting and maintenance of the 200 km access network and the condition of 80 km of public roads.
* Manage the project team budget, including monthly spend for identified activities/profiles (Traffic Management, Security, Site Development, Change, GS6) and Water Sampling of Private Water Supplies and Identified Water Courses.
* Coordinate a standard and consistent approach to delivering projects on time, to budget and to quality.
* Support improvements in project management processes, project reporting and setup during initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out.
* Provide general support to the project management team.


What you’ll be doing

* Assist to maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries, etc.).
* Prepare internal and external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
* Collate information and complete relevant applications associated with project requirements.
* Follow Balfour Beatty processes and procedures.
* Assist in providing regular client update reports and attend scheme progress meetings as required.
* Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase.
* Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost-effective decisions in line with overall business strategy.
* Prepare and present internal and external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
* Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables.
* Health, Safety & Environmental: maintain Zero Harm focus and stay up to date with legislative changes; conduct safety and environmental tours; lead accident/incident investigations; monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions; review RAMS and accept subcontractor RAMS; develop H&S plans as live documents ensuring sufficiency and workforce competency.


Qualifications / Skills

* Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organisation.
* Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships across the business and negotiate/influence.
* Capable of working in high-pressure situations with a flexible attitude; solutions-based problem solving.
* Experience managing multiple teams simultaneously; organised with a busy workload.
* Ability to manage a team, programme and budget; visualise the bigger picture.
* Excellent communication and credibility with farmers, landowners and clients; attention to detail; up-to-date IT skills; team player.
* Ability to resolve complex problems without routine solutions; tactful and diplomatic negotiation skills at all levels.
* Valid driver’s license.
