We're looking for a strategic and dynamic PFI Exit Manager to lead the transition of the Armada PFI contract. This is a high-profile opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the most significant phases of the contract lifecycle—ensuring a smooth, compliant, and value-driven exit that supports the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and protects Mitie's reputation.

What You'll Be Doing
As PFI Exit Manager, you'll lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the exit strategy for the Armada PFI contract. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Planning & Governance
* Develop and implement a comprehensive exit strategy aligned with MOD and Cabinet Office guidance.
* Lead cross-functional working groups across legal, commercial, technical, and operational domains.
* Manage key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
Contractual & Commercial Oversight
* Interpret and manage handback provisions and lifecycle obligations.
* Work with legal and commercial teams to assess risks and opportunities.
* Ensure all obligations are met and documented to protect Mitie's position.
Asset & Service Transition
* Oversee technical due diligence and handback readiness.
* Coordinate with FM operations and MOD stakeholders to ensure service continuity.
* Develop detailed transition and mobilisation plans.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as the primary contact for MOD, SPV, and internal teams.
* Provide regular reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
* Represent Mitie in strategic discussions and audits.
Risk & Performance Management
* Maintain a comprehensive risk register and mitigation plan.
* Monitor progress against KPIs, timelines, and budgets.
* Capture lessons learned to inform future transitions.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience managing PFI contracts, ideally including expiry or transition phases.
* Eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
* Strong understanding of PPP models, contract law, and lifecycle obligations.
* Project/programme management experience in secure or defence environments.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
* Familiarity with Cabinet Office and IPA guidance on PFI expiry.
* Professional qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, RICS, IWFM, CIPS).
* Experience with SPVs or FM providers.
* Strong financial acumen and IT proficiency.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
