This post will lead the Strategy, Policy, and Performance service to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of a range of services and functions, which support the effective delivery of services throughout the Council, including, but not limited to: Strategy and Policy Development,, Continuous Improvement, Performance Management, Community Planning, Equalities, Data and Insights,
As part of the Council's Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the development of the Council’s Strategic Business plans including effectively and successfully implementing key Council objectives, as set out in the Council Plan, and the East Lothian Plan (East Lothian Partnership’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan).
You will display exceptional leadership qualities in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of Strategy, Policy and, Performance and Organisational Development activity and you will ensure that a culture of continuous improvement and performance management is embedded within the Service and throughout East Lothian Council, leading on the Council’s Improvement to Excellence Framework.

Please Note:
All home/hybrid workers must live in the UK. Where an application for home-working is supported, it will be subject to a satisfactory trial period. Employees will be expected to attend Council offices for the duration of induction, and be on site in East Lothian workplaces, as required. Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.
