Pay/Salary Range: N4 SCP 7-9 FTE: £26,403 - £27,254; £22,671 - £23,402 actual salary pro-rata (£13.69 - £14.13 per hour)
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, term time + 5 additional training days

Role start Required to start as soon as possible; we are looking to appoint a highly motivated Activity Officer, ideally with experience in Rebound Therapy, to work alongside our positive, forward-thinking and dedicated team of teaching and support staff.
This role is suitable for a positive and professional individual with:
* Level 2 DfE recognised Teaching Assistant, Special Needs Assistant, EYFS or Childcare qualification OR Level 3 (or higher) qualification in any field with relevant experience e.g. working with children and young people with SEND
* An understanding of the therapeutic environment and supporting pupils with learning difficulties
* The ability to work constructively as part of a team
Responsibilities
* Deliver sport/exercise activities, such as rebound therapy and sensory swimming to individuals and groups as part of the therapy programme
* Be able to relate well to children and adults and in particular establish positive relationships with pupils

About Thomas Bewick School
Thomas Bewick School is a specialist provision for autistic children and young people. We cater for children and young people aged 3-19 years with a range of abilities and differences associated with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and all of our pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
The school is arranged over four different sites: Sites 1 and 2 are based in West Denton, with two satellite sites in Denton Burn and Kenton. Our curriculum is taught and supported by a team of caring, friendly and dedicated staff who are trained in ASC specific approaches and strategies. All pupils have access to an autism-specific environment with specialist facilities and activities to support learning and development.

* Mary Astell Academy – Alternative Provision academy for permanently excluded pupils and those struggling in mainstream (11-16 years)
* Thomas Bewick Special School – Special School academy for pupils with autism (3-19 years)
* Harry Watts Academy – Special School academy for pupils with autism (5-16 years)
* Gilbert Ward Academy – Special School academy for pupils with SEMH or autism (11-16 years)
Prosper Learning Trust was named lead partner in opening a new Free School in Jarrow, South Tyneside, a Special School academy for pupils with SEMH (4-11 years).
The successful candidate will be deployed initially at Thomas Bewick School but may be asked to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site as needed.
