We are partnered with one of East Wales's leading housebuilders who, with a strong and growing presence across the country, are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Director to the board.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading and managing successful Commercial departments within the sector and be comfortable working within a fast paced and dynamic environment.
A demonstrable track record within the Housebuilding sector is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of the senior management team to drive divisional performance, minimise risks, maximise opportunities, and ensure effective corporate governance.
* Manage and develop the Commercial function to ensure best practice, cost control, and strong contribution to operating profit.
* Lead commercial input into land acquisition, appraisals, and development agreements.
* Oversee procurement, negotiating and managing subcontractor and supplier relationships, ensuring cost effectiveness and compliance.
* Agree budget estimates, monthly valuations, and provide accurate financial forecasts to the board.
* Contribute to the division's strategic plan, appraisals, and build expenditure profiles.
* Recruit, lead, motivate and develop the Commercial team to achieve high performance.
* Actively participate in divisional board meetings and provide commercial insight to support decision-making.
* Regularly visit sites to support and advise operational teams.
The Person
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS qualified or equivalent experience).
* Strong knowledge of commercial contracts and arrangements.
* Comfortable with cost control, budgeting, and reporting software, as well as Microsoft Office.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
* Demonstrable success in a senior commercial leadership role within housebuilding.
