Our client is a leading custom design and manufacturing business within the engineering and production sector, supplying equipment to a wide range of industries across the globe. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Production Shipper to join their team.
This role is responsible for the accurate, safe and timely crating and palletising of full machines and system components, ensuring every item leaves the site securely packaged, fully checked, documented and protected for transit. This is not a picker packer role. It requires a high level of attention to detail, safe FLT operation and a thorough, methodical approach to prevent damage and ensure excellent customer satisfaction. When crating and shipping tasks are complete, you will also support the production team with general build tasks as directed by your Team Leader.
Main Responsibilities:
Accurate and timely crating and palletising of Metal Detectors, Conveyors and other system types
Ensuring all items are securely packed to avoid damage in transit
Thoroughly checking machines and crates before lifting or moving to prevent costly damage
Photographing and documenting all shipped goods in the correct customer file
Supporting the production team with general build tasks when required
Following all processes, procedures and Health and Safety practices
Communicating clearly with all areas of the business
Adapting to changing priorities and workloads
Maintaining high housekeeping and quality standards
Skills and Experience:
Full, valid FLT licence (non negotiable)
Previous experience in a production, warehouse, goods out, crating or shipping role
Strong attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach
Clear and concise communication skills
Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience in crating and packing machinery, engineering equipment or technical products
Experience with SAP or similar stock control systems
Additional Information:
Working hours Monday to Friday 8.45 am to 4.45 pm
