Pension scheme Death in service Ongoing training and professional development Opportunity to work with a leading water utility network About the role: This role is central to the coordination of urgent and reactive works, ensuring that field teams are deployed efficiently and that all customer issues – from blockages to pollution incidents – are responded to within tight timeframes. As a Reactive Works Coordinator, you will: Coordinate and schedule all reactive works related to the wastewater network, including customer-reported incidents such as blockages, internal/external flooding, and pollution events. Prioritise and allocate jobs in real-time to field operatives based on urgency, location, and resource availability, ensuring swift response and resolution. Monitor live workflows and job statuses, updating internal systems and communicating with field teams to ensure timely progress and resolution. Liaise with customers to provide updates on job progression, especially in cases of delay, rescheduling, or escalated emergencies. Respond to emergency situations in line with agreed protocols – including pollution incidents, health & safety risks, or service interruptions – ensuring appropriate and timely action is taken. Work closely with the Operational Management Team to adjust schedules dynamically throughout the day to meet changing operational demands. Ensure accurate job logging and closure using platforms including raising follow-on works or compliance checks as needed. Support the continuous improvement of reactive scheduling processes, helping reduce response times, improve customer satisfaction, and increase first-time fix rates. Champion a customer-first approach, ensuring all interactions reflect the values of Anglian Water’s Customer Vision and that service recovery is handled professionally. Support and coach operatives on scheduling best practices, ensuring everyone understands their role in delivering rapid and effective service. About you: Previous experience in a scheduling, planning, or coordination role, ideally in utilities or field services. Strong understanding of customer service principles and a passion for delivering excellent experiences. Familiarity with wastewater network operations or related environmental/emergency response scenarios is desirable. Excellent organisational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Confident using scheduling and work management systems Strong communication and relationship-building abilities. A proactive mindset with the ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. A team player who contributes to a positive working culture and high-performing teams.
