Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist
We are seeking an experienced full‑time Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist for Cygnet Aspen Clinic, a 16‑bed specialist service for women with personality disorder and complex needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and oversee care of all ward inpatients.
* Maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude towards patients, families, visitors and staff.
* Lead patient treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
* Assess referrals, conduct mental state examinations, investigations, diagnosis and treatment.
* Conduct ward rounds, patient reviews, clinical audits and risk assessments.
* Implement risk management and embed clinical governance within the service.
* Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals, managers hearings and attend hearings.
* Liaise with the Ministry of Justice for patient transfer and leave approvals.
* Ensure accurate patient records and maintain regular communication with the Site Medical Director and Hospital Manager.
* Attend academic meetings and meet CPD standards set by GMC, DoH and RCPsych.
* Participate in on‑call rota and QI & Audit initiatives.

Qualifications
* Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent).
* Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12 and AC status.
* Experienced in rehabilitation or general adult psychiatry.
* Knowledgeable of Mental Health Act, Code of Practice, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
* Excellent communicator with experience in patient assessment, treatment and record‑keeping.
* Committed to professional development and multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent.
Requirements
The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check, reference check and offer will be subject to clearance.
