Flood Partnerships Advisor
Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on skills and experience
Contract: Permanent, full time (37 hours) with flexibility for part time
Location: Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex or Huntingdon, with some travel around the Anglian Water region
Are you passionate about tackling flood risk and making a real difference to communities? We’re looking for a Flood Partnerships Advisor to join our Flood Risk Team team and play a vital role in managing local flood risk and surface water challenges.

As a Flood Partnerships Advisor, you’ll work closely with Risk Management Authorities (RMAs), local councils, the Environment Agency, and other partners to deliver innovative, collaborative solutions to flooding issues. You’ll represent Anglian Water at local and regional levels, supporting our Strategic Flood Partnerships Manager and helping to identify and deliver partnership funded schemes that benefit and impact the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
This is a hands on role where you’ll:
1. Build strong relationships with external partners and internal teams.
2. Lead on local flood investigations and coordinate responses.
3. Manage partnership funding projects from design through to delivery.
4. Champion Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Nature based Solutions (NbS)
5. Support innovative flood resilience projects and multi-benefit schemes.
6. Prepare quotes and award work based on the competitive quote process, taking ownership of the procurement related regulation
7. Regularly visit site and projects to understand potential risks and issues

What does it take to be successful?
18. Proven experience in an operational or service-focused environment, or a relevant qualification (HNC/Degree in science, engineering, or related discipline).
19. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
20. Strong project management and planning abilities.
21. Knowledge of flood risk management legislation and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
22. Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel across the region and work flexibly.
23. Comfortable representing Anglian Water in public forums
24. Able to take initiative and manage expectations of local partners while we look to resolve local flooding issues in partnerships
25. Experience of working in partnership with external stakeholders
