We're looking for someone who will provide critical financial support to a £100m turnover business, delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial performance reporting. The Management Accountant will be deeply involved in production accounting, standard costing, inventory integrity and site P&L performance. Working closely with the Site Controller and operations teams, the role helps drive improved manufacturing performance, cost control and process discipline. As part of a small finance team, the position also supports month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, audits, and wider site governance. Principle Responsibilities: Produce clear, concise analysis of operational and financial performance, identifying root causes, risks, and opportunities. Provision of commercial analysis and support to the vertical management team on new product initiatives including investment appraisal, business case analysis and scenario analysis. Analyse and explain production variances, including material usage, labour, overhead absorption, scrap and efficiency. Manage and develop site sales, margin, and cost centre reporting, including involvement in BI system enhancements. Support full monthly close for the site, including journal preparation, GL postings, reconciliations and insight-driven commentary. Maintain and update standard costs, including annual cost roll-ups for manufactured items and periodic BOM/routing reviews. Support the Site Controller with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts and strategic financial planning. Prepare cost centre budgets and work with budget holders to drive cost discipline and understanding. Participate in process improvement (Kaizen/CI) activities and drive finance-related improvements in efficiency and reporting. Act as a deputy for the Site Controller in their absence. Other ad-hoc requests as required. Qualifications/Experience/Training: Studying towards or newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA). Strong MS Excel skills. Experience working in a manufacturing business would be an advantage. Previous experience of an integrated ERP system - QAD would be an advantage.
