ABOUT THE ROLE
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to construction and refurbishment projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure that budgets are maintained, variations are managed effectively, and commercial opportunities are maximised.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities
2. Manage project budgets, valuations, and cost forecasting
3. Monitor and control project expenditure, identifying areas of risk or opportunity
4. Liaise with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost information
5. Manage variations, claims, and final accounts
6. Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements
7. Provide regular financial reports to management and clients
8. Attend project meetings and provide commercial insight and advice
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal Candidate
9. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or refurbishment
10. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
11. Experience working across healthcare, education, commercial, or residential sectors is desirable
12. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
13. Proficient in using industry-standard estimating and project management software
14. Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
15. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across London and the Home Counties
