Our client is a UK manufacturer of high-quality branded consumer goods which, due to forthcoming expansion, wishes to appoint a Part-time Finance Director to lead financial strategy and performance improvement in the UK and internationally (currently Europe and US focused). The company has been established for approaching 50 years and operates across four sales channels for its three main product lines – direct to consumer, corporate, major retail and independent retail.
As Finance Director, you will:
• Report to the Chairman, responsible for implementation and development of all financial aspects of this vibrant, entrepreneurial organisation
take responsibility for the accounting function and identify opportunities to improve business performance
• Lead the Finance function, working closely with internal senior management and external advisors
• Take full responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management
• Develop and execute improvement plans with clear financial objectives aligned to strategic priorities
• Support strategic planning and investment decisions, including M&A, new markets and product development initiatives
• Oversee financial controls and systems, ensuring governance, transparency and operational efficiency
• Lead your finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial information, empowering commercial decisions
As Finance Director, you will be:
• Commercially astute, operating at senior level with a proven track record in a multi-channel, high-growth business as Finance Director, CFO, Financial Controller or Head of Finance
• Qualified with ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW
• Experienced in branded consumer goods or high volume manufacturing, understanding modern production methods - insight into selling both B2B and B2C across varied channels beneficial
• A first-class communicator, ambitious to shape the financial architecture of a respected and expanding business
• Determined and focused on options and results rather than rigid processes
Salary & benefits:
• c.£150,000 (pro rata) + strong bonus potential + benefits
• Potential equity share
• Part time, c.2 days per week
• Office based role with flexibility to work from home when appropriate
